Last Saturday at Mercury Project, Rejeana “Coco” Williams, of Coco Productions, presented the 4th of her Stylish Saturday Series, an event which featured A. Leke, Amber Holmes, Daniel Hinojos, Diva J’s, Flawless Fashionista, Janay Towles, Kandi Factory, Meagan Cantu, Non Barbie Fashion, RoyalT Ink Kouture, Vida & Co and Yanna Mae. 12 local designers debuting their new collections in a back to back runway show. The Mercury Project, just blocks from Southtown, is an art gallery space, with a low key vibe. Cocktail hour took place outside before the show. Wine and finger foods were served among the lush patio, lined with palm trees and cacti (super instagramable).
Once the runway shows began I was completely blown away. Each collection was absolutely beautiful and so different from the one before it. Some collections featured gowns and flowy skirts, others were all about denim, fun prints and jumpsuits. There was even a men’s line in the mix. Seeing so much diversity from one collection to the next made for a very entertaining night, full of surprises. Coco put together such a phenomenal lineup of extremely talented designers and knowing that each designer was local (with the exception of one, who was from Austin), made it that much better.
Here are some of my favorite looks and highlights of the night.
Cardigan: Joie, Top: BCX (includes necklace), Jeans: Jolt, Shoes: Chinese Laundry, Sunglasses: Quay Australia, Handbag: Tory Burch, Photography: Janai Cantua
I’ve been living in my sneakers lately. They are the perfet comfy, yet chic alternative to my usual boots and heels and can be styled to almost any look.
Shoes: Stan Smith by Adidas
Obsessed with this emerald green color lately. It’s so chic and a great subtle pop of color to my usual neutral/all black everything outfits.
